Self-build
Build a Tiileri masonry heater yourself
A Tiileri kit is delivered complete, with its assembly plans: you can build it yourself. So that you are not left alone with the job, assembly support is available, and two three-day training sessions are open to individuals in 2027.

1 to 6 days
of installation as a guide, depending on the model
2 to 4 weeks
of drying, with no fire at all
3 days
of training, 8 people at most
€350
per person, 2027 sessions
What the kit contains
- The parts of the heater, delivered as a complete kit.
- The assembly plans, which describe the heater course by course (a course is a row of bricks); for the Aino, plans on request.
Details of the packing list and of what is supplied — mortars, tools, flue — are given on request.
The kit spares you the design of the heater: the parts and their assembly order are defined. The work consists of preparing the location, assembling, connecting and finishing.

What the manufacturer’s plans and instructions provide for
Each mortar has its use.
ML5 (ready-to-use sand and cement mix)
Laying the facing bricks and levelling the base
Refractory masonry mortar
Firebox body and inner shell. Refractory: resistant to high temperatures
Tiileri clay mortar
Outer perimeter of the Aida
Clay mortar for chimneys
Brick flue supplied with the Helmi
Insulation and expansion.
- A 10 mm layer of rock wool separates the inner shell from the outer shell, all the way round.
- The expansion gaps shown on the plans stay empty. A piece of mortar lodged in these gaps stops the masonry from moving and makes it crack.
Drying. Leave the heater to dry for 2 to 4 weeks, with doors and hatches wide open, without any fire.
Gradual first firing.
- Week 1: 1 to 2 kg of wood once a day, as split kindling, with the ashpit air inlet fully open.
- Week 2: one full load for the model.
- Week 3 onwards: gradual increase.
On models with an oven, open the oven door after each drying fire and wipe off the condensation. The start of each heating season should also be gradual. The instructions for your model take precedence.

What to check before buying
The supporting floor
The heater weighs from 450 to 2,240 kg. The load-bearing capacity of the floor or slab is checked before purchase, for your house. We do not publish a general specification: ask for a structural assessment if in doubt.
The flue
The connection to the flue, existing or new, determines the choice of a top or bottom outlet.
