Programme
Mornings: theory
- Who’s who in masonry heaters in France and the Tiileri France network.
- The Tiileri range and its options: AirBox (ducted combustion air supply), cast-iron metalwork, adding a heat accumulator.
- Reading the assembly plans, model by model: Aida, Amanda and Sofia, Heidi and Helmi.
- Photos of completed installations.
- Calculating the associated flue system, and calculating the home’s heat losses — to do yourself or to entrust to Cœur de Foyer.
Afternoons: practice
- Refractory masonry and cladding, in exposed brick or render.
- Assembly and adaptation of the brand’s own components.
- Fittings and sealing.
- Heater-to-flue connection.
- On the second day, 15 minutes are devoted to each participant’s own project.
Method and resources
- 40% theory, 40% hands-on practice on a training site, 20% devoted to participants’ projects.
- Two complete Tiileri masonry heaters, brick, render and the brand’s materials, and tools for marking out, masonry and fixing.
- The teaching is based on the professional rules for flue work and good practice in refractory masonry: DTU 24.1 (French code of practice for flues), EN 15250, EN 16510 and EN 13384.
Assessment
- A multiple-choice test on the theory.
- An assessment grid for the practical work.
Accessibility
- Let us know your needs from our first exchanges: looking into an adaptation or referral takes time.
