By the end of the two days, you will be able to

  • Recognise the construction methods of the Aida, Amanda, Sofia, Heidi and Helmi models.
  • Read and interpret Tiileri assembly plans.
  • Size the associated flue system.
  • Install the fittings according to the manufacturer’s instructions and make the heater-to-flue connection.
  • Cost and sell a masonry heater kit.
  • Understand your place in the Tiileri France network and know whom to contact, for technical and sales matters alike.

Programme

Mornings: theory

  • Who’s who in masonry heaters in France and the Tiileri France network.
  • The Tiileri range and its options: AirBox (ducted combustion air supply), cast-iron metalwork, adding a heat accumulator.
  • Reading the assembly plans, model by model: Aida, Amanda and Sofia, Heidi and Helmi.
  • Photos of completed installations.
  • Calculating the associated flue system, and calculating the home’s heat losses — to do yourself or to entrust to Cœur de Foyer.

Afternoons: practice

  • Refractory masonry and cladding, in exposed brick or render.
  • Assembly and adaptation of the brand’s own components.
  • Fittings and sealing.
  • Heater-to-flue connection.
  • On the second day, 15 minutes are devoted to each participant’s own project.

Method and resources

  • 40% theory, 40% hands-on practice on a training site, 20% devoted to participants’ projects.
  • Two complete Tiileri masonry heaters, brick, render and the brand’s materials, and tools for marking out, masonry and fixing.
  • The teaching is based on the professional rules for flue work and good practice in refractory masonry: DTU 24.1 (French code of practice for flues), EN 15250, EN 16510 and EN 13384.

Assessment

  • A multiple-choice test on the theory.
  • An assessment grid for the practical work.

Accessibility

  • Let us know your needs from our first exchanges: looking into an adaptation or referral takes time.
